FishCap downloads ERA5 air pressure for the approved date range. Tide is stored only where the marine model resolves a genuine cycle; unresolved zero/slack fallback values remain blank.

Environmental model coordinate: Port of Ngqura −33.8015, 25.6848. This coordinate is used only for model enrichment and is not written as a catch GPS position.

The migration updates 139 matched workbook catches plus the confirmed D248025 recapture, adds 364 new catches, creates 85 sessions and effort periods, and leaves the remaining 30 existing-only catches untouched.

I have downloaded the backup and reviewed the approved migration decisions.

Scientific safeguards

Capture times remain labelled Estimated within session.
Environmental values remain labelled Historical model at estimated time.
No catch GPS coordinates are invented.
Zero-catch sessions remain in effort totals for correct CPUE.
The migration is repeat-safe because sessions, effort periods and new catches use stable IDs.

Session corrections and recovered catches

Correct genuine entry/exit times and add catches transcribed after a completed trip. Existing record IDs are preserved.

Download a full backup before changing any existing session time. The correction tool never deletes catches, sessions or effort records.
